Retired partner Mort Daller is the Editor-in-Chief of the Product Liability Desk Reference: A Fifty-State Compendium^©, the Tort Law Desk Reference: A Fifty-State Compendium^©, and the Business Torts: A Fifty-State Guide^© all published annually by Aspen Law & Business. In addition to acting as Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Daller and other current members of Daller Greenberg & Dietrich, LLP authored the Pennsylvania and New Jersey chapters of these books. These publications are intended for anyone managing and supervising product liability and tort litigation in multiple jurisdictions.

Complex Litigation Programs in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, Pennsylvania

In 1993, Philadelphia was 44^th out of the 45 largest urban trial courts in terms of length of time to dispose of civil jury cases. Since that time, Philadelphia has dramatically decreased the length of time to dispose of civil jury cases and was hailed by the National Center for State Courts in 2004 as "arguably the best-managed large urban civil trial operation in the nation." This article discusses three case management programs in Philadelphia which have contributed to the dramatic improvement -- the Complex Litigation Center-Mass Tort Program, the Commerce Program and the Class Action Program.
